RRCA is an open boundary school, meaning that you are not required to prove your residency to attend.  Here is what you need to know to become a student at RRCA.  Please review our acceptance guidelines prior to the registration process.

The process for enrollment to Rio Rancho Cyber Academy is listed below:
1. A pre-enrollment form must be completed with the required documentation.
2. Participate in an interview process along with their parent/guardian.
3. During the interview, prospective students must complete an approximately two-hour online skills assessment.
4. If accepted to RRCA, InfoSnap must be completed.  Then the following documents would be required:
· Original birth certificate
· Updated immunization record

Additional Information:
In addition to the online registration, we also require all students/parents/guardians to come into RRCA to apply for a parking pass (those students that will be driving), pay your multipurpose fee of $10.00 cash or check, pay ANY outstanding FEES or FINES from another RRPS school (fees and fines must be cleared to register), pick up your school supply list and for those families that have not been able to register through the on line system, InfoSnap.  If you have not received an email to register through the online system, InfoSnap, then your student is considered “NOT REGISTERED.” ALL students must be registered through the online system BEFORE they can begin school.  Please remember that RRCA students DO NOT receive a class schedule.  Classes are assigned during the first week of school.

If your child is taking medication of any kind, either a doctor’s order for a prescription medication or a signed permission form for over the counter medications is to be held in the health office for a student to take medications at school.

For a prescription medication, a doctor’s order form is to be filled out by the doctor and returned to the health office. This policy includes that an order is needed for inhalers used only as needed for occasional asthmatic episodes.

For over the counter medications, including acetaminophen (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Motrin), cough drops, antacids, etc. you need to sign a permission slip and bring to or send with the student the medication to the health office for the student to take as needed during school hours. These are all considered as medications and not to be taken without health room staff supervision.
This is for your child’s safety and health protection and within school policies. Thank you for assisting the health room staff with meeting this requirement.

To request that an absence be excused, the parent or legal guardian must call the RRCA Attendance Office before 9 am each day of absence. Do not call or email teachers or call the reception desk to report absences. Please dial 892-7222, option 5. You must state the student’s name, grade and reason for the absence. Parents/guardians should contact the Attendance Office to excuse a partial day absence, prior to the absence. Parental notes will not be accepted in lieu of phone calls. Students who are emancipated (as per IRS code) and have provided a notarized statement signed by the student and parent/legal guardian that parental approval is not required to excuse a student’s absence from school are required to obtain approval from the RRCA Principal. The administrator may require documentation or other verification to confirm the student’s reason for the absence. PARENTS MUST CONTACT RRCA IF THERE IS ANY CHANGE IN CONTACT PERSON, PHONE NUMBERS, AND/OR ADDRESS.

Mission: Rio Rancho Public Schools is dedicated to graduating each student with an educational foundation for success as a responsible, ethical contributor to society.
