Blended Learning

RRCA      At Rio Rancho Cyber Academy, blended learning means students work online from home 2-3 days per week and they also come to our campus 2-3 days per week for actual classes and hands-on learning.  They have the benefit of virtual teachers via the online courses plus they benefit from their teachers at Rio Rancho Cyber Academy who teach lessons based on where students should be in their online courses.  Our teachers are also here to give one-on-one tutoring and encouragement.  Our courses are licensed through Edgenuity, Inc.   Click here  to read the Edgenuity, Inc., resource page on blended learning.

Rio Rancho Cyber is an alternative educational setting supported by the Rio Rancho Public School District, serving students in grades 6 through 12.  It is one of two alternative settings in the district which has two comprehensive high schools and draws from the city of Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Placitas and the greater Albuquerque area.
The school is considered a blended online learning setting because students come to school two days a week and do most of their school work remotely. This alternative plan was deliberate because it was recognized through studies that students in middle and high school need specific content support, strong ties with teachers, strategic lessons on how to learn as well as what to learn and career guidance. RRCA is the only district school that incorporates both middle and high school and implements a non traditional learning environment.

RRCA has demonstrated a high degree of student success and the faculty and administration are experts in online education, managing students in a blended environment, math and literacy intervention procedures, and credit and grade recovery strategies. The Rio Rancho Public Schools District recognizes RRCA’s online and Response to Intervention (RTI) expertise and has given RRCA responsibility for all Rio Rancho’s online and distance learning in the district’s schools. RRCA is a consultant to other blended schools in New Mexico and other states.
